Cabbie's Mate / iOS App

We regret to inform you that, much like many other businesses, we are no longer able to absorb the additional increasing costs of developing, running and maintaining the Cabbie’s Mate apps. Therefore, we have no other option but to increase all new and renewal annual subscriptions by 10% with effect from the 1st of November 2022. We appreciate your understanding and loyalty.

iOS Subscription Cabbie’s Mate A-Z app

As of April 2014 (2014-15 app), the iOS Cabbie's Mate app has been an annual subscription-based app.

Our subscription app has been tested on iPhone 6S, 7, 8, X, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and iPads using iOS 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and is working well. This app requires iOS 13 and above. Your device needs to have at least 3GB of free space and be connected to secure Wi-Fi at home for map download. If you have maps installed but are updating your maps, your device must have 3GB of free space for the updates to download and override the old maps.

Cabbie's Mate apps and maps can now be downloaded via 4G/5G or mobile Wi-Fi. If you don't have unlimited data or are worried about data usage, please download it at home or disable your Mobile Data option on your device settings.

You can unsubscribe anytime, but the app will stop working at the end of the paid period.

iOS Cabbie’s Mate App is linked to the iOS Navigation map, you can switch between the A-Z map and the iOS navigation map. Data is required for the navigation to work, but no data is required for the A-Z to work as long as there is a sim inside a device (Data is required to load TFL disruption information on the A-Z map. If you don't wish to use your data or are low on data, this function should be disabled in settings.)

Cabbie’s Mate app will always work better on the last three iOS versions.

We have two options:
Both options receive two map updates a year, in Spring and Autumn.

Standard £33:
Two map updates and one poi update a year. POI is updated in spring/April together with the map update.
This works out 63 pence a week, which we believe it's value for money for what you are getting.

The premium option comes with a 30-day free trial period when subscribed. If you don't wish to move on to paid subscription, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the trial expiry date.

Premium £44:
Two map updates and 4 Poi updates a year. We release POI updates in January, April, July and October.

Knowledge functions (adding and exporting your own POIs, creating a list of points you need to visit, auto plotting, linking them on the map with a multiple cotton line and exporting your list).

More functions will be added to the premium option in the future.

Most customers have selected the premium option.

Updates will come to your phone automatically when released.

Subscription automatically renews annually unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase.

If you have a current subscription, you can download the Cabbie’s Mate app on two devices (two iOS or two android or one of each). You can never be charged twice as long as you use the same Apple ID you purchased the app with and download the same subscription option you have already paid for.

Older iOS version users (pre-iOS13)

Customers who have the ios Cabbie's Mate app on older devices (pre-iOS13), can use the app as usual, but if they delete the app, they will no longer be able to download it. The new iOS App requires iOS13 or newer version.
